Mmmhmm...... Ozumo needs to be dotted all over the bay area (like id be fine with that lol)
Tastes amazing, but very small portion size
The dining experience was exceptional but had some service issues with the bar staff during HH.
We enjoyed the tasting menu + sake pairing, an event they had for the 18th anniversary. The fish was fresh and they had a sake sommelier who was very knowledgeable. We tried 6+ sake! Would be back to try their regular menu
I really liked the Choco Chan dessert. I recommend ☺ï¸
This is a great restaurant for a date or celebration. We sat by the bar and watched the chef prepares the sushi. The sushi were fresh and the fish were cut with right. The atmosphere were very inviting and theI services were great.
Great space, awesome food, excellent service and if you're lucky, a fantastic view of the Bay Bridge! I've brought a few people here and they've never left unimpressed. You can't go wrong with the food here, but here are my recommendations.Start with the Daijingo Sake Flight and a tall bottle of Sapporo. The hamachi with hot ponzo as an appetizer is a good favorite, black cod is why I keep coming back, the wagyu with truffle butter just melts, all the sashimi platters are amazing and the size you order depends on the number of people you have at your table and finally - the castille cake never fails.
Expensive! Japanese food combining sushi and items on the robata grill. For the most part the good was very good, complemented by a nice selection of sake.
High quality fish, friendly and good service, and terrific dessert. Get the flourless chocolate cake!. Overall rating of 4.5 (lost 0.5 as the moriawase was solid but not exceptional).
rude bartenders. rest of the staff was nice. the yakitori was good. sushi is mediocre at best. dumplings were dry and tasteless. poor overall experience
Great good, a little pricey but to be expected from a good place in the FiDi.
This place is so good, I had so go two nights in a row. The sushi was really high standard and super delicious! I loved sitting at the sushi bar watching the chefs performing their mastery.
The Wagyu Ami Yaki is just sublime. Can not recommend this enough
Great food, fantastic service. Solid happy hour deals.
Visited this restaurant during the Restaurant week. Sushi were so delicious. Appetizers also were good.
This place was really really good! Definitely recommend the rice pudding for dessert!
Great atmosphere, very good service, huge saki selection. Sushi is good, but a little on the small side and pricey. I love unagi, but don't care for the way it's prepared here.
Excellent food and great service. Everything we had was incredibly well made and impeccably presented. If you want to get a seat by the windows make sure to make a reservation. They also have an amazing Saki menu that the staff is incredibly knowable on.
Most amazing sushi. Blue fin tuna belly is great.
I celebrated my birthday earlier this evening in this great place. Well we passed a fabulous evening and the restaurant was clearly one of the reasons for this fruitful gathering. The stuff cooperated in a lovely way, the meals were great and my buddies were very glad. We shall definitely come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.
Would certainly recommend trying out this place. Fantastic ambience, tasty food, excellent customer service. Keep it up.
Dined here yesterday for lunch. Gorgeous sushi would reccomend. A little lacking in vibe ....
Great food, fine upscale dining. We ordered the edamame and brussel sprouts appteizers, both delicious. The maki rolls were piece of art. Highly recommend the Shacho..equisite flavors.
Long standing Japanese restaurant in San Francisco. The quality of the fish is always impeccable. They added a few new items including luxurious wagyu options. The staff and service is always above par. The decor is lovely. There are private rooms for large parties - one c the few places in SF that can comfortably accommodate a large party and maintain the ambiance.
I've had Sushi all over this great country, and this place was amazing. Salmon belly, Tuna belly, fresh urchin from Japan, and Waygu skewers. Pricey for sure, but simply amazing place to dine. And sit at the Sushi bar and talk directly to the Sushi chefs. Great experience
Ozumo is a great place for groups of people to enjoy some fine sushi and Asian inspired dishes. I highly recommend this place if you want to impress clients and/or friends and family. Our service was spot on and the food was also just as good. I admit that I had a little too much sake, but it paired well with my food. I will be back.
Ozumo is wonderful. Even if you’re not a sushi fan (their sushi is really good), the rest of the menu is fantastic (I’d say start with the edamame). And if you’re as partial to the brown liquor as I am, they’ve got one of the best Japanese whiskey selections in the city. I’ve done dates, casual happy hours, and birthday dinners here. Just an overall great spot.
Solid spot! Love the happy hour here! Fresh seafood, tasty skewers, delicious sake list! From the sushi bar, to the lounge by the entrance, private sake lounge, everything is solid here!Especially the hospitals by Mel, he’s amazing! He helps to make this place a must visit!
Place is great, been here a few times, sushi is good, a lot of fusion rolls and classic nigiri\sashimi options. Fish had always been tasty, service is good and the staff is friendly. Price is on the high side but worth it.
Excellent sushi and Japanese influenced dishes. Very nicely done interior. Try to get a table close to the sushi bar as you will have nice Bay Bridge views. Our table was on the grill side, so unfortunately no views. The prices are on the high end, so be prepared for a larger than usual check.
Elegant Japanese restaurant with both hot grilled items and cold sushi/sashimi. I was surprised at how large the restaurant was, with multiple bar areas and table seating. Prices are quite high, but the quality of the food and the service is excellent. I really enjoyed the Dohyo as a shared appetizer (diced dashi-marinated tuna sashimi and avocado with gyoza skin dipping chips) and Ozumo roll (classic unagi, cucumber, and snow crab roll topped with diced tuna and avocado with spicy aioli). They were both very fresh and delicious.
Wonderful venue. Great food and excellent service. And, I mean stellar! They have great meeting spaces for most anything. We have both eaten there and also had an event in their private room.Highly recommend.
This is (in my slightly humble opinion) the best Sushi in San Francisco, probably California, possibly the country! Consistently world class ... an elegant dinner out. Certainly it’s pricey, and worth every penny. I like to go early, around 6. They get bust by 7, packed by 8. Reservations always a good idea :)I hop you enjoy it as much as we do.
I worked shot in SF in 2016, I basically lived in this place, it's so good. The fish is super fresh and the selection of Saki is off the planet! Also the staff and atmosphere is truly first class. The only 5 star rating I have ever given so far.
Beautifully presented, fresh sushi but with a hefty price tag! The ambience of the restaurant is warm and chic and the service was absolutely flawless. We shared a number of rolls and albeit very tasty, I would expect something more spectacular for the price!
Great looking restaurant, and the service was very friendly and knowledgeable. My first time coming here and I didn't know what to order, so we gave our waiter the task of helping us order and every dish was wonderful. The best part of the meal is the fact that the food tastes even better than in looks and every dish is impressively prepared! I'd come back for that black cod any day! I have to say that the prices are definitely steep, but if you are looking for somewhere to celebrate and want Japanese, I most definitely recommend this place. A great experience and I will certainly come back.
Amazing service and quality good. I had a large group booked last minute, and they pampered us extensively. There are not a lot of places that I find in San Francisco where I've been impressed with the service lately, but Ozumo nailed it. The hospitality director, Mel, is a complete class act.
We sat in the private room for a business meal. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Overall a fantastic experience. As a word of warning, the wall separating the private room from the main restaurant is perforated, so it can get a bit loud during peak hours (but not unbearably so for a young person). Some of the older guests had trouble hearing if people didn't speak up.
Friendly staffs, amazing atmosphere, great food. Five stars!
Great Japanese fare, best to share with a group
Very solid Japanese restaurant. The rolls were full of flavor with high quality rice - I challenge you not to drown in soy sauce as it masks the true flavor. They have an amazing Sake list.
Awesome Sushi. Definitely one of my top 3 Sushi spots worldwide. Professional staff, also good for larger groups. Reservation recommended,
Great atmosphere, food and selection of sake. A bit pricey, but quality is really high and the location is unbeatable.
We celebrated a birthday here and they made sure we all had a great time. Food was delicious and the waiter suggested two sakes that worked really well for our party. Everything wetried was delicious and we had 7 or 8 different menu items for our party to share. They were even having their employee party tonight and closed the restaurant early, but told us to stay as long as we wanted and to take pictures in their photo booth before we left.
Ozumo is best for special occasions or business dinners with a group. You pay a lot here for the vibe and it's not a place to drop in on a whim. Its swanky interior and good service makes for a nice dining experience. The food is very good, but won't blow your mind and there are many other options in the city, and much less expensive at that.
Lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Definitely loved the wagyu beef that you can cook at the table.
Great yakitori! Salad and tempura tastes good as well.
This past Thursday I was able to reunite with an old high school friend, who was working in SF for the week. We met for dinner at Ozumo and began talking as soon as we sat down. We didn't even have a chance to look at the menu, when Andrew (Director of Operations) asked if he could make some suggestions. He was great! Andrew and his staff quietly took care of us while my friend and I shared stories and laughed for the next 2-1/2 hours. The best part is the staff never pressured us to hurry up so they could seat other customers. The amazing food was the topper to a great evening for a couple old high school friends to reunite.
Great atmosphere and food. View across the water is spectacular. Sat at bar and watched in awe as they prepared my food....
